Zondagmiddag 6 oktober was het weer gezellig in de foyer van Estrado in Harderwijk. Ik had de Amsterdam Fata All Stars uitgenodigd voor de El Mundo sessions. Bandleider, saxofonist en zanger Remco Korporaal vertelde over het ontstaan van de band en alle gemaakte tournees. De band bestaat uit gedreven musici uit allerlei windstreken. Ze maken vrolijke ska, de muziekstijl die in de jaren zestig ontstond in Jamaica, een mix van reggae, calypso en Afrikaanse ritmes. In Estrado reageerde het publiek enthousiast op deze geoliede machine!
Sunday afternoon, October 6, it was cozy again in the foyer of Estrado in Harderwijk. I had invited the Amsterdam Fata All Stars for the El Mundo sessions. Bandleader, saxophonist and singer Remco Korporaal told us about the origin of the band and all the tours we have done. The band consists of passionate musicians from all over the world. They make cheerful ska, the music style that originated in Jamaica in the sixties, a mix of reggae, calypso and African rhythms. In Estrado, the audience responded enthusiastically to this well-oiled machine!
