Deze keer richt ik de spots op de Italiaanse singer-songwriter en muzikant Umberto Tozzi uit Turijn. Al op zestienjarige leeftijd speelde Umberto al in een bandje. In 1977 werd hij bekend met zijn hit “Ti Amo”. In 1987 zong hij samen met zanger RAF het nummer “Gente di Mare” tijdens het Eurovisiesongfestival in Brussel. Daardoor kreeg hij ook internationale bekendheid. In 2013 gaf hij zijn eerste optreden in Nederland, in Maastricht. Intussen is hij 28 albums verder!
This time, I’m turning the spotlight on the Italian singer-songwriter and musician Umberto Tozzi from Turin. Umberto was already playing in a band at the age of sixteen. In 1977, he rose to fame with his hit “Ti Amo”. In 1987, he performed the song “Gente di Mare” alongside the singer RAF at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brussels. This brought him international fame. In 2013, he gave his first concert in the Netherlands, in Maastricht. He has now released 28 albums!
