Ik werd verrast door het optreden van het Pankisi Ensemble tijdens het Sfinks Festival in de Clubtent! Het Pankisi Ensemble bestaat uit vier vrouwen uit Georgië, dichtbij de grens van Tsjetsjenië. De dames brengen kenmerkende Georgische polyfonie en de folklore stijlen uit de verschillende regio’s in de Kaukasus! De regio staat bekend door zijn duizend jaar oude wijnbouw en oude orthodoxe kloosters.
I was surprised by the Pankisi Ensemble’s performance at the Sfinks Festival in the Club Tent! The Pankisi Ensemble consists of four women from Georgia, close to the border of Chechnya. The ladies perform distinctive Georgian polyphony and the folklore styles from the different regions of the Caucasus! The region is known for its thousand-year-old viticulture and ancient Orthodox monasteries.
