Al op zes jarige leeftijd maakte ze haar debuut als zangeres.op de basisschool. Na jaren zingen in de salsa tributeband Sonora Matancera trad ze in 1998 op in New York samen met salsaster Celia Cruz. In 1999 bracht ze haar eerste solo-album uit. Ze ontving 2 latin Music Awards. Tot nu toe heeft ze zes albums uitgebracht met vaak een mix van salsa en cumbia! Carolina woont nog in Miami in Florida, maar overweegt weer terug te gaan naar haar geboorteland.
