Dit keer geef ik extra aandacht aan de jonge Engelse arbeidersjongen en singer-songwriter Sam Fender uit Newcastle. In zijn jeugd had hij te maken met armoede en drugsellende waaruit hij dankzij zijn muziek kon ontsnappen. En dat had ook te maken met de muzikale familie waarin hij opgroeide. In 2010 ging hij optreden in de lokale pup en startte hij als acteur in een Britse dramaserie. Zijn debuut -single “Play God” bracht hem nationale erkenning. Eén van zijn grote voorbeelden is de band War On Drugs. Nu staat hij zelf op grote festivals en stadions!
