In het eerste uur van de eerste El Mundo editie in het nieuwe jaar richt ik de spots op de Oostenrijkse singer-songwriter, dichter en activiste Sigrid Horn uit Wenen. Ze groeide op in de regio Mostviertel. Sinds 2018 maakt Sigrid met weinig middelen bijzondere liedjes in het Oostenrijks Mostviertel dialect. Zoals ze zelf uitlegt: “dat biedt mij meer mogelijkheden met klinkers en medeklinkers”. Daarbij begeleid ze zichzelf op de piano of met een ukelele. Ze treedt vaak op met singer-songwriter Ernst Molden. In haar liedteksten protesteert ze o.a. tegen de stedelijke wildgroei in het Oostenrijkse landschap!
In the first hour of the first El Mundo edition of the new year, I’m shining the spotlight on Austrian singer-songwriter, poet and activist Sigrid Horn from Vienna. She grew up in the Mostviertel region. Since 2018, Sigrid has been writing remarkable songs in the Austrian Mostviertel dialect with limited resources. As she explains, ‘it gives me more possibilities with vowels and consonants’. She accompanies herself on the piano or with a ukulele. She often performs with singer-songwriter Ernst Molden. In her lyrics, she protests against, among other things, urban sprawl in the Austrian landscape!
