This time, I am paying special attention to the Italian singer, songwriter and musician Lucio Dalla from Bologna, who passed away in 2012. At a young age, he already played the clarinet in a jazz band in Bologna. Singer Gino Paoli suggested that Lucio should also try singing. In 1977, Lucio began writing his own lyrics, which brought him great fame in Italy and beyond. His song “Caruso” became particularly famous and was covered by artists such as Luciano Pavarotti and Julio Iglesias. He also collaborated with Francesco De Gregori. Lucio suddenly passed away from a heart attack just three days before his 69th birthday.
